Banks and Oracle lift Wall Street slightly
Stocks edged up on Friday on relief that the financial regulation bill wouldn't crimp Wall Street profits as badly as first feared and as strong results from Oracle Corp revived hopes about business spending.
* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 1.13 points, or 0.01 percent, to 10,151.67. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 3.41 points, or 0.32 percent, to 1,077.10. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 6.06 points, or 0.27 percent, to 2,223.48.
