Barcelona secured a 3-1 win comeback win over bottom-of-the-pile Almeria, sustaining their eight-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table.

To the surprise of everyone at Camp Nou, it was Almeria who opened the scoring after breaking quickly to catch Barca on the counter as Corona scored in the 50^th minute. For a brief three minutes, the away supporters dared to hope for an upset. However, Almeria keeper Diego Alves fouled David Villa in the box and Lionel Messi stepped up to convert the spot kick. Ten minutes later, youth product Thiago Alcantara scored to make it 2-1 shortly before Messi sealed the win in injury time with his second of the game.
