Barry Manilow, an American singer–songwriter, musician, arranger, producer, conductor, and performer, dropped the price of his Malibu Beach house to $7,991,938 after trying to unload it for nearly two years.

According to media reports, the singer of Can't Smile Without You and Mandy first listed it in early 2009 at $12.6 million with a different agent, dropped it to $10.9 million in December 2009, then re-listed it in March 2010 for $9.15 million after two months of it being off the market.

Last November, the price dropped to an odd figure of $7,991,938.

It was the sellers choice for that list price, AOL Real Estate quoted Kate Novotny, listing agent as saying.

In 2002, Manilow purchased the ocean front property, which includes 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in the ocean side main house and another bedroom in the street side guest house for $3.85 million, according to Real Estalker.

The 3,546-square-footer is a contemporary with a detached one-bedroom guest house, according to the listing in Luxist. There is a step-down two-story living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, vaulted ceilings, and limestone floors.

My favorite thing about that house is the stunning views up and down the beach in both directions, said Novotny. I also really like the private garden, which is unusual. The house has a walled and gated entry and a courtyard, which is very special.

According to listing, the home also has a media room, an office, a kitchen with high-grade appliances, an upstairs master suite with two-walk in closets, a fireplace, a bathroom with spa tub and steam shower and a private glass paneled terrace.

According to Novotny, although the home was a secondary residence for the Manilows and many neighbors on Malibu Road live there year-round, the home would be great as a primary residence.

Although real estate prices have pulled back, on the beach is always the most popular destination, Novotny said.
