Baseball Wives/Girlfriends Ahead Of 2017 World Series Between Dodgers, Astros [PICTURES]

There is plenty of star power when it comes to the 2017 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros. Clayton Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball, while Justin Verlander and Dallas Keuchel are two of the best starters in the American League. Houston’s Jose Altuve is the favorite to win the AL MVP award, while L.A.’s Cody Bellinger is certain to be named the NL Rookie of the Year.

Some of the wives and girlfriends of the players in the Fall Classic are celebrities in their own right.

The most famous woman that’s in a relationship with one of the players is Kate Upton. The supermodel, who’s graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue multiple times, is engaged to Verlander.

Rumors began to spread that the couple was dating in 2012. Upton is often shown by the television cameras when Verlander is starting, and she was featured during the broadcast of both of his masterful performances against the New York Yankees in the ALCS.

Upton stirred up some controversy last year when she sent a tweet criticizing voters for not giving Verlander the AL Cy Young award. The message was retweeted more than 69,000 times. Verlander had one of the worst seasons of his career in 2014 when the relationship between himself and Upton went public, and some fans even blamed the model for the pitcher’s struggles.

One of the Dodgers’ postseason heroes is also engaged to a model. Dodgers’ outfielder Enriquez Hernandez announced in July that he was going to marry Mariana Vicente.

Vicente was named Miss Universe Puerto Rico in 2010. She’s done some acting, appearing in “Hot Tub Time Machine 2” and multiple episodes of “American Horror Story.”

Hernandez struggled in the regular season, hitting for just a .215 batting average with 11 home runs, but you wouldn’t know it from watching the playoffs. Hernandez has a .417 average in 12 playoff at-bats, including three homers in the Game 5 clincher against the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS.

Among other notable significant others in the World Series is Amanda McCarthy, wife of L.A. pitcher Brandon McCarthy. Amanda has previously blogged about being married to a professional baseball player, and she has just under 36,000 Twitter followers.

Justin Turner’s girlfriend, Kourtney Elizabeth, is nearing 30,000 Instagram followers.
