Brace yourselves, “Bates Motel” fans. Only two episodes remain in Season 2 of the A&E series, and they’re gearing up for some serious jaw-dropping moments. The network released photos from the upcoming ninth episode, and it appears Norman will be in a bit of a sticky situation.
Last time viewers left off, Norman had been kidnapped by a mysterious man. The promo video for episode 9, “The Box,” seemed to hint that Nick Ford took Norma’s son, and new photos reveal his location: in a sort of crawlspace under a house.
In a series of shots of the White Pine Bay teen, Norman can be seen with his hands duct taped in front of him. While one photo shows him calmly looking at the low ceiling above him, another shows him making an attempt to peer out through one of the many openings.
And despite his clean and healthy looking appearance in those pictures, a third photo shows that he’ll eventually get roughed up. Blood can be seen in the corner of Norman’s mouth and on his hair line. His eyes are red rimmed, dirt is covering his face, and his hair is dripping wet.
As we previously reported, Norman’s kidnappers will discover Miss Watson’s pearl necklace and the newspaper clipping on her death in his pocket. If Nick Ford is truly the person behind Norman’s kidnapping then it’s safe to assume that his men were the ones that roughed up the teen in order to gain information on her murder. However, it’s also possible that Norman’s ragged and beat up appearance could be from him attempting to escape the muddy crawlspace.
Whatever the case may be with Norman, it appears as if his family will be doing everything in their power to get him back. Another released photo from episode 9 shows Norma in action -- running across the road in front of oncoming cars. Who is she running after that she can’t even wait for traffic to pass? “Bates Motel” fans will have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, a shot of Dylan shows Norma’s eldest son in a contemplative state. As viewers know, Dylan got himself in a bit of a situation in episode 8. Nick Ford demanded that Dylan kill Zane to end the drug war, and Jody told him to do whatever he needs to do to rectify the situation. But can he go through with killing Zane? And will Norman’s kidnapping affect his decision? Norma tells Dylan in the promo video that “this has to end,” which leads us to believe that Norma wants Dylan to do whatever he has to -- murder or not -- to get her beloved son back.
Episode 9 of “Bates Motel” will air on A&E on April 28 at 10 p.m. EDT. What do you think will happen in “The Box”? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section or send a tweet to @AmandaTVScoop.
