Bates Motel
Season 2 of "Bates Motel" premieres on March 3. A&E

Are you ready to check into the “Bates Motel”? The hit A&E series and “Psycho” prequel returns on Monday, March 3, and the network has just released a press release regarding the highly anticipated second season.

In the previous episode of “Bates Motel,” Norman got into a nasty fight with his friend Emma and was physically beat up by Bradley’s boyfriend at the school dance. Accepting a ride home from his English teacher Miss Watson, Norman ended up having a psychotic break and hallucinated his mother … who told him that his teacher was trying to seduce him and that he “knows what to do.” The finale ended with Norman running down the road and Miss Watson lying in a pool of blood in her bedroom.

According to the A&E press release, season 2 of “Bates Motel” will continue to “dig deeper into the twisted world of the Bates family.” Check out our breakdown of what to expect from your favorite characters:

Norman – The teenager will be “fixating” on the death of his teacher when season 2 picks up. And while the finale set up Norman to be the killer, is he actually innocent? Viewers won’t be the only ones wanting to get to the bottom of Miss Watson’s murder. Actor Michael O’Neill will be guest starring as Nick, the father of Miss Watson, who is seeking revenge against her killer.

Norma – Even though Romero helped Norma get rid of Abernathy, the widow will still find herself in some trouble during the upcoming season. The press release teases that Norma’s “mysterious past starts to haunt the family with the introduction of her brother, Caleb.” “Sons of Anarchy” actor Kenny Johnson will be guest starring as Norma’s brother, while Michael Vartan will be playing a potential love interest for Norma named George.

Dylan – Dylan will still be entangled in the drug war in White Pine Bay come season 2. But Norman’s half-brother may find himself with more problems as Bradley continues to dig into the death of her father and is “driven to precarious extremes.”

Sheriff Romero – Is he a good cop or bad cop? That question will remain in season 2 as things in town “escalate.” Fortunately for Romero he’ll have a new partner. As we previously reported, a new “ambitious, smart and eager” cop named Patti Lin will be assisting the sheriff.

Emma – Norman will be getting a new love interest named Cody, a “party girl.” But that doesn’t mean Emma will continue pining over him. The friendship between the two will become strained (more than it already is) when she explores a new love interest as well.
