With “Battlefield 1’s” They Shall Not Pass DLC just a few weeks away, EA has revealed an early look at new weapons that will come with the expansion pack. The new DLC will come with a total of 11 new weapons which can all be unlocked by completing challenges.

Some of the new weapons for “Battlefield 1” come in different variations. For example, there are Infantry and Sniper versions of the Lebel Model 1886, and there are Telescopic and Lightweight versions of the Chauchat light machine gun. The They Shall Not Pass DLC for “Battlefield 1” also includes three new melee weapons: the Nail Knife, Trench Fleur and the Cogwheel Club.

Players need to unlock the other locked items in “Battlefield 1.” The new weapons can’t simply be unlocked by reaching a specific rank or through warbonds. Instead, players will have to complete challenges like in previous “Battlefield” games, according to Game Rant.

Majority of the new weapons can be unlocked by completing a set of two challenges. The primary challenge usually requires certain number of kills using a specific weapon, while the secondary challenge involves performing tasks. For example, the new Ribeyrolles 1918 sub-machine gun can be unlocked by (primary) performing 50 kills with the Automatico M1918 Factory and (secondary) performing 20 headshots using the MP1918 Optical. The new melee weapons, however, can be unlocked by performing one challenge.

The new weapons included in the They Shall Not Pass DLC is now available for some players on the PC who are part of EA’s Community Test Environment. The CTE is a testing server where upcoming changes are first tested with some players on the PC who bought the Premium Pass before being officially released to everyone else, according to GameSpot.

The They Shall Not Pass DLC pack is scheduled for release in March, but EA and DICE haven’t revealed a specific release date just yet. The upcoming expansion can be bought as a standalone DLC for $15, and it’s also bundled with the $50 Premium Pass.
