RTTNews - Tuesday, the National Bank of Belgium said in a report that the consumer confidence indicator stood at minus 19 in May, up from minus 22 in April. This was the highest level since October 2008. A year ago, the index was minus 9.

The measure for households' saving capacity over the next twelve months increased to minus 2 in May from minus 4 reading seen in the previous month. Meanwhile, the financial situation indicator rose to 1 from minus 1.

Further, the gauge for economic situation in Belgium over the next twelve months stood at minus 7 in May, up from minus 10 in April. At the same time, the measure for unemployment stood at 70, down from 71 in April.
