RTTNews - Thursday, Belgium's National Institute of Statistics announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 0.37% year-over-year in May, in contrast to a 0.60% increase in the previous month. This was the first decline in consumer prices since 1960. A year ago, consumer prices were up 5.21%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.07% in May.
