Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell will be exchanging vows soon. These days, the “Bachelor” alums are already planning their wedding, which in turn gets them excited about their married life together.

During an interview with People magazine, Ben recently opened up about the experience of preparing for their big day. “[Planning a wedding] is difficult,” Ben, 29, told People. “We are definitely trying to. Us not planning a wedding yet has been actually something that has been really positive for us. It’s freed up a lot of time. It’s allowed us not to stress about the confines of planning a wedding and allowed us to get really excited about the idea of a wedding.”

The “Bachelor” star admitted that he and his soon-to-be wife have been stressed about everything that has been going on their lives, but they also realized that wedding planning was very exciting. The process has made the couple look forward to the next chapter of their journey together, which is life as a married couple.

Ben and Lauren’s relationship has had its fair share of ups and downs. The couple scored a spin-off show, titled “Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After,” following their appearance on “The Bachelor.” In one episode, Ben called off their wedding because he was not comfortable with the idea of getting married. But although Ben delayed their nuptials, he assured Lauren that he was not leaving her.

“I still want to marry Lauren, very much so,” Ben told People in previous interview. “Our relationship is better now than it has ever been.”

On the other hand, Lauren has remained supportive of Ben because she understands that they are going through lots of changes after their stint on the reality dating show. In addition, the “Bachelor” Season 20 winner said she was confident that they will eventually tie the knot.

"If Ben needs a little more time to feel comfortable getting married, that he should really have it because in the end, it won’t matter if this wedding’s a little bit later,” Lauren said, E! News reported.
