Ben & Jerry’s is serving up a yummy treat for ice cream lovers with a Free Cone Day. On April 8, from 12-8 p.m., the Vermont-based company will be serving free scoops to fans. All you have to do is show up at one of their locations. On their site, they define Free Cone Day, saying, “Well it’s our way to celebrate and say thanks for another year of support, and we’ve kept it up every year since, spreading the love & ice cream around the globe [sic].”

Ben & Jerry’s has been offering free ice cream since 1979 as a way to celebrate their first anniversary.

In addition to the sweet treat for fans, in February, the ice cream company announced they will be introducing four new flavors of Ben & Jerry’s Cores. Their new U.S. flavors are Salted Caramel, a sweet cream ice cream with blonde brownies and a salted caramel swirl, That’s my Jam, chocolate and raspberry ice cream with fudge chips and a raspberry core. Peanut Butter Fudge, chocolate and peanut butter ice creams with mini peanut butter cups and a peanut butter fudge core, and Hazed & Confused, hazelnut and chocolate ice cream with fudge chips and a hazelnut fudge swirl. The new ice creams have a column running down the middle of the pint that is a core center of fudge, caramel or raspberry jam. The pints are $4.39 each and hit stores in the U.S. in February.

Find a Ben & Jerry’s near you on their official website and join them for Free Cone Day on Tuesday.
