Benedict Cumberbatch Is Making ‘Twilight’ Star Robert Pattinson Jealous, Says Report

Benedict Cumberbatch’s sex symbol status reportedly has “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson green with envy.

According to ShowBizSpy.com, the 37-year-old “Sherlock” TV star’s rise to fame in recent years has Pattinson, 27, wishing he had appreciated his star status more during the "Twilight" film saga's prime years.

“Rob now realizes he took his time in the spotlight for granted!” a source told the gossip site, adding, “Rob’s annoyed that Benedict is getting all the attention and has become the hottest thing in Hollywood.”

According to “insiders,” Pattinson secretly enjoyed the attention that comes with fame despite his shy demeanor and is now rumored to be fuming that his fellow British import, the “Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” actor, is getting more recognition.

“Rob used to revel in his status as a British sex symbol,” said one insider. “He used to play it cool by pretend to be blasé about the whole fame thing, but he secretly loved it.”

While Pattinson, whose next film is “The Rover,” is allegedly jealous of Cumberbatch’s intense media coverage and dedicated fan base, the actor hasn’t been MIA from gossip sites.

On Wednesday, HollywoodLife.com reported that the film star, previously linked to his “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart, was recently spotted partying with model Imogen Kerr at The Little Door in Los Angeles. According to the tabloid, Pattinson and Kerr, 22, enjoyed each other's company over dinner and drinks before exiting the hotspot together in the early morning hours.

"It was just the two of them and they sat outside in the patio for a long time," said one eyewitness. "They looked like they were having a good time."

Like Pattinson, Cumberbatch has been the center of dating rumors this week. Following his outing with “Fifty Shades of Grey” film star Dakota Johnson in New York Tuesday, fans speculated the acting twosome might be more than friends. The rumors followed reports that Cumberbatch has been hiding the identity of his new girlfriend per her request due to her “serious career.”

“She isn’t in the public eye,” a source told ShowBizSpy.com last month. “[She] is keen to remain anonymous as long as possible.”
