There is less than a week left for that busiest of days, for both consumers and the retail industry; a day that could see you take home plenty for just a handful of dollars, courtesy the deals on Black Friday which, this year, begins on Thanksgiving night.

The shopping season kicks off from Thanksgiving on Thursday, followed by Black Friday, Super Saturday, Sunday and Cyber Monday, on which retailers are offering highly discounted deals both on general products and electronics and popular gadgets. Almost all the major brands and stores have announced slashed prices and early bird offers and the IT industry isn't far behind. We're talking about deals like the $0.01 AT&T deal that could see you walk home with a smartphone, even if one wasn't on your shopping list.

This season, AT&T, Sprint, eBay, Wirefly, Best Buy and several other online retailers and services providers are either offering fantastic freebies or gadgets and products with unimaginably low prices for online shoppers.

Sprint, for example, is offering the Google Nexus S 4G, free, with a two-year contract, in addition to deals on HTC smartphones and the BlackBerry PlayBook. The country's largest wireless carrier, AT&T, it is believed, is selling smartphones like the Motorola Atrix, the Samsung Infuse, BlackBerry, the HTC Inspire and the LG Thrill on the cheap. In addition, the company could be offering several touch screen devices like tablets at unbelievably low prices.

Online deals will begin on Black Friday, November 25 at 12:01 a.m. ET and will last till Cyber Monday.

Customers can also grab Samsung smartphones like the Convoy, the Intensity II, the Gravity text, the Stratosphere 4G and the Samsung Trender, in addition to the HTC Wildfire and LG Optimum from Wirefly, which is also offering deals and discounts.

Then there is eBay's popular annual savings program - 25 Days of Deals that offers customers deep discounts on gadgets, from Saturday Nov.19 till Dec.14th. One just needs to sign up to view exciting deals on a daily basis.
