It's cold outside, which means it's time to hunker down at home with a blanket, some cozy clothing and a big, warm bowl of soup. But not just any recipe will do. When snow is accumulating on the ground and you don't feel like going outside until Spring, it's time to make homemade chicken soup, the only winter treat that will do for the next few months.

Below are four recipes from some of the internet's move beloved celebrity chiefs and cooking sites. Don't forgot to serve your soup with a large spoon. There's no need to be dainty when eating something so delicious and healthy for you.

1. Tyler Florence's Chicken Noodle Soup. This homemade recipe involves carefully straining the stock and being generous with the onion, garlic, carrots, celery, thyme and bay leaf. Read it here.

2. One of our favorite cooking sites, the Kitchn, offers an easy soup recipe that involves cooking a whole chicken in water. We personally use this recipe at least once every winter and suggest you do the same. Read it here.

3. Martha Stewart is the queen of all kitchens in our book and no recipe collection is complete without consulting her easy instructions. Her soup cooks in about an hour and is colorful, with carrots, celery and perfectly golden stock. Read it here.

4. We usually shy away from newfangled TV cooking stars, instead choosing to stick with Stewart or our food icon, Julia Child, but the Pioneer Women has won us over in recent years with her Americana fare and folksy charm. Her use of pictures for nearly every step also make her recipes simple to follow. Read her take on chicken soup here.
