Bethesda today released the first full-length trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which features gameplay and shows off a number of the game’s locations.

Slated for a Nov. 11 release, the fifth entry in the Elder Scrolls series will appear on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows.

The series’s previous entry, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was received well by both critics and fans. Bethesda announced in 2006 that it had shipped 1.7 million copies of the title in the month following its release, making it the fastest-selling Xbox 360 title at the time.

Skyrim is set to improve on many of its predecessor’s features. In addition to an expanded world and enhanced gameplay elements, the title also utilizes the Creation Engine, which was designed especially for the title. With Creation Engine, environment effects are generated dynamically, giving features likes snow and lighting a more convincing look and feel. Bethesda has said that it will use the technology in future titles as well.
