Bette Midler
Bette Midler played Winifred ‘Winnie’ Sanderson in the film. Just like in 1993, Midler is still a household name. Now 66, the actress has focused less on her acting, and more on her career as an author, comedian and singer. In recent years Midler has appeared in 2004’s “The Stepford Wives,” and lent her voice to 2010’s “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.” Reuters

Bette Midler might have put a spell on viewers when she was a part of “Hocus Pocus,” but it turns out she’s just as much a fan of the Halloween flick as everyone else. The actress sat down with Katie Couric for her talk show “Katie,” where she dished on her infamous witch character Winifred Sanders.

"Oh, I love it. I love it," Midler said via Huffington Post about the hit '90s movie. "We made it before the tidal wave of Halloween happened.”

“Now it's like huge. It's huge,” she continued. “Kids, grown-ups, everyone takes part in it. This movie was kind of like the beginning of the wave. We had a great time making it. It was Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker and I and we laughed the whole time ... we just had the best time."

Since it was made, the film, which turned 20 years old this year, has practically been played on television almost every year around Halloween time.

The Sanderson sisters are the Halloween version of Larry, Curly and Moe, and they have stolen people’s hearts for two decades. Not to mention, there’s a talking cat. Jason Marsden, who voiced Binx the talking cat, told the Daily Beast he also loves the film, just like Midler. The film also includes a choreographed musical number.

“It was so vibrant and colorful. And, you know, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker are just amazing in it,” Marsden said. “It’s got a family-friendly feel, but it’s a little bit menacing at times. It’s a little bit scary!”
