Fans have already gotten a more in-depth look into the superstar’s life from excerpts of her interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she discusses the struggle that ultimately lead to her firing her father, Matthew Knowles, as her manager, her pregnancy weight gain and her relationship with husband Jay-Z, which she has largely remained aloof about in the more than 10 years they have been together.

An exasperated Winfrey notes that it was in a previous interview that she told Beyoncé to not talk much publicly about who she was dating.

“I think you took that all the way,” Winfrey joked. “I don’t tell people who you’re dating, but you can tell people who you’re married to.”

She and Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Cater, married in 2008 in a quiet ceremony that reportedly included only close family and friends. But before they would become one of Hollywood’s biggest power couples, they were friends for more than a year, Beyoncé details. She credits that as the foundation of their extremely solid relationship.

"I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man," Beyoncé told Winfrey, adding that their relationship "just gives me such a foundation."

The couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, recently turned 1-year-old, and the singer revealed it was difficult for her to come back after a massive weight gain during her pregnancy

"I did a show three months after giving birth, which was crazy," she said. "I had clearly never given birth, and I didn't know that I would gain 60 pounds, 57 pounds."

Since then, however, the famous mom has shown off her now ridiculously fit post-baby body in GQ and Vogue, as well as at her Super Bowl halftime show performance.

Blue Ivy’s birth followed a miscarriage that was kept secret from the public until Jay-Z referenced it in his single “Glory,” which he released upon their daughter’s birth.

"It was the saddest thing I've ever been through,” Beyoncé says in the documentary.

Rumors also circulated that she had used a surrogate to carry her daughter, however clips from “Life is But a Dream” show Beyoncé bearing her budding belly. The singer touches on how she continued to perform while pregnant, notably putting on a show at New York’s Roseland Ballroom in 2011 that was filmed as part of a DVD special.

It was also in 2011 that Beyoncé would “let go” of her father as her manager and become her own businesswoman. A former medical equipment salesman, Matthew Knowles severed as manager of Beyoncé’s early performing group, Girl's Tyme, as well as Destiny’s Child.

Beyoncé details that as she got older, friction between her and her father ultimately caused her to decide she wanted to be her own manager.

“When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I'd say "no" to something, and he'd book it anyway,” Beyoncé told Winfrey.

“Then I'd have to do it, because I'd look bad [if I didn't]. We would fight sometimes, and it took about two years to when I was 20 for him to realize, oh, she is an adult now, and, if she doesn't wanna do something, I can't make her do it."

Despite the rough professional split, Beyoncé insists that their personal relationship has remained “full of love.”

The “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview with Beyoncé airs Saturday at 8 p.m. on the OWN network, while “Life is But a Dream” airs at 9 p.m. on HBO.
