Over the weekend, Beyonce posted new pictures to her Instagram account wearing interesting nameplate earrings.

The earrings did not have her name engraved, but rather, the word, "Ratchet," which has become a popular term in 2012, primarily in the hip-hop community. The word has been used to refer to situations that are not socially acceptable, or seen as being "ghetto."

It is unclear what the motive for the photos were, but various sources are speculating that the first single released from Beyonce’s upcoming fifth studio album will be called, “Ratchet.”

Last week, Beyonce channeled the iconic Michael Jackson in pictures she posted this week on her Instagram account.

Wearing leather black pants, a black blazer, shirt, and hat, Beyonce grabbed her crotch in one photo while throwing one arm in the air, a signature Jackson pose.

Earlier this month, music producer and recording artist the Dream announced that Beyoncé will have new music prior to her performance at the Super Bowl in February.

Jackson also performed at the half-time show in 1993.

Perez Hilton, reported that Beyoncé will also be collaborating with Justin Timberlake, and her husband, Jay-Z, among others.

A source told the celebrity gossip site that when Beyoncé and Jay-Z were in a recording studio in New York, Timberlake was also present.

The new music will be the first since the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy, and her last studio album, "4," which was released last year.

"She's got her stuff going. She took the summer to start recording, and now she's in a place where she's ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan. She's already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out,” the Dream said in a statement.
