Adam Nimoy (pictured, left) interviews Sheldon (Jim Parsons, right) for a "Star Trek" documentary in episode 7 of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9. CBS

There will be no new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Monday night. With "Thursday Night Football" moving back to the NFL network, "The Big Bang Theory" is returning to its normal Thursday night time slot and leaving Mondays to new hit "Supergirl." That means episode 7, "The Spock Resonance," will come after an extra long week for loyal viewers, but the promo for the episode, released by CBS Sunday, provides a little taste of the action for fans having trouble with the wait.

The promo is short, but sweet, teasing a juicy development in the Sheldon (Jim Parsons)/Amy (Mayim Bialik) saga. According to the synopsis for the new episode, Sheldon ends up spilling the beans about his plans to propose to Amy to Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kelly Cuoco). In the teaser video, Sheldon is showing off a hidden safe in the wall of the apartment. Leonard and Penny had no idea the hiding spot even exists -- apparently Sheldon has a lot of secret safety, including a wall safe, a floor safe, a security camera, and, of course, an Aquaman action figure. Is the wall safe where Sheldon is keeping his Grandmother's ring -- the ring fans saw after Sheldon and Amy's Skype breakup?

Watch the promo for Season 9, episode 7 below:

What could have Sheldon so emotional that he is busting out the ring? The synopsis reveals that, while being interviewed for a documentary about Spock from “Star Trek" by guest star Adam Nimoy, the son of Spock actor Leonard Nimoy, Sheldon struggles to suppress his feelings about Amy moving on . In episode 6, Penny and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) pushed Amy to try a new app to get back in the dating game. It turned out she did not need the app, she had already lined up a new date with a mystery man named Dave, played by guest star Stephen Merchant. Seeing Amy with another man might be just too much for Sheldon to take.

Will Amy find out about Sheldon's ring? Will Sheldon blow his "Star Trek" interview? Fans will have to wait to find out. "The Big Bang Theory" returns Thursday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
