Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife, Trish, haven't been able to make their marriage work and have filed for divorce, TMZ reported on Thursday. Billy Ray first filed in October 2010, but he later dropped the divorce. Now the celebrity news site is saying that Trish doesn’t want to be married to Billy Ray this time around.

She cited “irreconcilable differences,” according to the news site, and is requesting for full legal and physical custody of their youngest child, Noah, 13. The couple share three children together: Noah, Braison, 18, and superstar Miley, 20. Trish has two other children from a previous relationship: Brandi, 26, and Trace, 24, who Billy Ray adopted.

The couple has had a tumultuous relationship, with Billy Ray dropping the divorce filing in March 2011. "I've dropped the divorce," the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer said on an episode of “The View,” according to Us Weekly. "I want to put my family back together -- things are the best they've ever been."

Miley doesn’t seem to be too happy with her parents. The “Party in the USA” singer, notorious for airing her dirty laundry on Twitter, sent a message out to her father on the social media site. "Billy Ray Cyrus, since your text and email obviously aren't working would you like to talk like this?" she asked. She has since deleted the tweet, which is probably because the star said she was going to try and keep her tweets strictly about business.

Miley and her father haven’t always had the best relationship, and the two became estranged in 2011, according to the celebrity news site. During a recent interview with Eonline.com, Billy Ray said he and Miley were as close as ever. "I like right now just being her daddy and her friend," he said. "I like where our relationship is at right now. I'm very proud of her."

Her dad believes the 20-year-old, who shot to stardom with “Hannah Montana,” is handling being in the limelight just fine. “There's two sides to the sword, and fame is a very dangerous thing," he said. "So you handle it with respect and caution, step by step, day by day. Knowing that, for me, I had a friend to talk to -- he was called my dad -- and that's what I try to be for Miley."
