California woman Catherine Kieu Becker's penis attack on her husband is making headlines around the world.

Sadly, this isn't the first case of a spouse severing another's bodily organ.

In June of 1993, Lorena Bobbitt severed half of husband John's penis with a knife from the kitchen. Doctors were able to successfully reattach the organ, unlike the case of Catherine Becker's husband which is not possible since the organ was mutilated by a garbage disposal.

On Mother's Day this year, Michigan man Rahsaan Lavonte Thedford punched his wife in the face and head, then bit her eyelid off after an argument in which she told him to leave the house.

In December last year, Karen Lueders from Wisconsin allegedly bit off her husband's tongue while he was trying to give her a kiss, then went out to sing Christmas carols. Half of 79-year-old William Lueders' tongue was severed during a manic episode late at night, according to authorities.

In May, 2007, a man bit off his wife's lip after she called him short. Akano Nzarem of South San Francisco, who was 54 years old at the time of the incident, allegedly grabbed his wife in a bear hug and bit off her lip, which police later recovered from the floor. However, doctors were unable to reattach it.

In September of 2007, Tom Ledgerwood of Oklahoma allegedly bit off his ex-wife Kristy Nuckols' finger and her new husband Larry's ear- then proceeded to swallow them. Ledgerwood had chased the couple's car down a dirt road, where the the car got stuck, prior to the life-changing confrontation.
