Before you get too excited about getting your weekly dose of Tuesday-night laughter with ABC’s “Black-ish,” we have some bad news. The comedy won’t be airing tonight and won’t return for a couple of weeks.

The Anthony Anderson series returns on Feb. 27 with a special episode that’s sure to bring the nostalgia. In the episode, titled “Please, Baby, Please,” Dre (Anderson) tells baby Devante (August & Berlin Gross) a bedtime story all about the troubles the family has had over the past year.

“Dre is on baby duty for the night during a storm, and the household is wide awake,” the synopsis reveals. “He decides to read a crying Devante a bedtime story, but when that doesn't do the trick, Dre tosses it aside and begins to tell a story of his own about the current state of the country in a way Devante will understand.”

To make matters worse for lovers of the series, there won’t even be re-runs airing during its usual time of 8 p.m. EST on Tuesdays to hold them over. Instead, ABC is premiering its “The Bachelor” spinoff, called “The Bachelor Winter Games,” tonight. The new reality competition will follow favorites from the original show, as well as its sister series “The Bachelorette,” as they compete in winter-themed challenges.

Luckily, fans of the ABC sitcom can still get new glimpses into the world of “Black-ish” over the next couple weeks in the form of its spinoff series, “Grown-ish,” on Freeform. The series, which follows the college life of Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi), is not on hiatus and will be airing new episodes during the show’s normal time-slot of 8 p.m. EST on Wednesdays.

This week, the half-hour comedy will give viewers a look at what can happen when too much is shared on social media. Titled “Erase Your Social,” the episode sees Zoey earn her dream fellowship at Teen Vogue, only to put in jeopardy when she begins revealing a bit too much on her social platforms.

Watch new episodes of “Black-ish” beginning Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. EST. on ABC.
