Sun unveils world's fastest 2TB flash storage array

The Sun Storage F5100 Flash Array, unveiled on Monday at the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco, is the world's fastest and most power efficient flash array for accelerating database applications.
The F5100 Flash Array provides up to 2 TB of solid-state Flash storage. It delivers over 1.6 million read and 1.2 million write IOPS, according to Sun. The array delivered I/O bandwidth of 12.8GBps, which, according to the company, is the fastest performance to date for an SSD array.
Pricing for the array starts at $45,955 on Sun's website.
