Lake Jocassee and Keowee receive a $5M upgrade?
Duke Energy revealed plans to spend between $5 million and $6 million upgrading recreational facilities at Lakes Jocassee and Keowee by the year 2015.
The company, located in Oconee County, is basically planning to improve the company's lakes. The improvement is part of recreation management plan devised after months of studying the present and future recreational needs, according to Duke officials.
The plan
was unveiled at a forum at The World of Energy sponsored by the Friends of Lake
Keowee Society.
The company was required to submit the recreation management
plan as part of its relicensing procedure, with the current license due to
expire in 2016.
The plan has been submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
