Get Your Eggos Before They Run Out
It's a dark day for frat boys, bachelors, and five year olds everywhere. Kellogg says there will soon be a nationwide Eggo Waffles famine.
Why? International waffle thieves? Workers on strike? Terrorism? Nope, it's Mother Nature's fault.
A big storm temporarily shut down Kellogg's Georgia plant, and a bakery in Tennessee was closed indefinitely for repairs.
So what does this mean for you, the waffle fiend? A company spokesperson warns stores across the country will not be able to keep shelves stocked, and it won't return to normal until summer 2010.
For now, the plan sounds like only the strongest will survive. Kellogg will distribute current stocks of Eggos to stores based on previous sales history.
So if waffles were already a hot item at your local supermarket, they're about to get a lot more scarce. No word if you'll have to form a neat orderly line, or win a golden ticket to get your breakfast fix.
But in a never say "leggo my Eggo" attitude, Kellogg is working around the clock to stockpile more waffles.
If you can't get your Eggos, try something different, believe it or not, those earthy-crunchy natural brands are pretty good too.
