Natasha Richardson's family donated her organs: source

The family of British actress Natasha Richardson, 45, who died last week after a tragic ski accident, requested to donate her organs to help others.

Richardson "would naturally donate her organs. At least by donating her organs something good could come out of [the tragedy]," said a family friend according to perezhilton.com Wednesday.

The British actress was involved in life, helping AIDS organizations. She died from a blunt impact to the head when taking a beginners ski lesson in Canada. She is survived by her husband, actor Liam Neeson, and her two children.

Richardson was buried this week in upstate New York City, while theaters in Broadway and London have dimmed their lights in memory to the actress.
