Teen girl, 14, faces porn charges for posting explicit pics of herself

The 14-year-old girl from New Jersey was arrested after posting 30 explicit pictures of herself on MySpace.com. She is facing child pornography charges and if convicted then she will have to register as a sex offender.

"She wanted her boyfriend to see them," said a New Jersey sheriff's spokesman.

The New Jersey case comes as prosecutors nationwide pursue child pornography cases resulting from kids sending nude photos to one another over cell phones and e-mail.

MySpace has not commented on this case, but the company has a team that reviews its network for inappropriate images.

The teen, whose name is not released because of her age, was released to her mother's custody.
