The four Oakland policemen that died as a result of a violent rampage on March 21 caused by a 26-year old man were honored in a massive funeral Friday.

At the funeral, thousands of police officers accompanied the family of their fellow workers, the officers Mark Dunakin, John Hege, Ervin Romans and Daniel Sakai.

Among those speaking at the service Friday were Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, U.S. Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, as well as state Attorney General Jerry Brown.

Hege and Dunakin were shot on March 21 when they pulled over the parolee during a traffic stop as a normal routine, authorities said. The other two officers, Romans, Sakai died later that day in a shootout when they stormed an apartment where the parolee was hiding. The man also died.
