Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAZZ) announced yesterday after the closing bell that data from its first Phase III clinical trial of sodium oxybate (JZP-6) for the treatment of fibromyalgia will be presented this week during the Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS) 2009 Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington and also during the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark. Jazz Pharmaceuticals has completed a second Phase III pivotal clinical trial of JZP-6 and expects to announce top-line results from that study in mid-2009. The stock closed at $3.16, up 209.80%, on 18,303,906 traded shares.
China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources, Inc. (NYSE AMEX: SHZ) announced that the Company resumed production at its fluorite processing plant at its Xiangzhen Mining Plant, located in Inner Mongolia, and at Xingzhen Mining, located in Xinjiang Vygur Autonomous Region. Ms. Jessica Yu, Shen Zhou’s Chairwoman and CEO, stated, "We have previously arranged full production of drilling, extraction and processing in Xingzhen Mining at our annual meeting and we believe that we are well-prepared for continued production.†The stock closed at $1.97, up 44.85%, on 777,043 traded shares.
