Teachers and pupils at Meoncross School in Stubbington, U.K. were baffled by a bright-colored creature which was spotted several times on school grounds, according to the Telegraph.
The report on Monday explains that some people guessed that it might have fallen into purple paint, or dye, or result of two different species of squirrels breeding.
Animal experts at the RSPCA have to admit they have no idea how the squirrel became purple.
“The only explanation we can think of is that it has got near some paint or something,†said a staff of RSPCA, a U.K. animal protection service.
