Maine woman Marci Ladakakos Sues County for Jail Strip Search

Marci Ladakakos is suing the Cumberland County in Maine, alleging her civil rights were violated after she strip-searched and forced to shower in front of male inmates who ridiculed her.

Ladakakos, 30, of Old Orchard Beach file the suit in U.S. District Court and is seeking damages, the Associated Press reports.

The facility were the event allegedly took place was Cumberland County Jail. She was arrested on July 10, 2007for failure to appear in court on five theft charges, AP reports.

Cumberland County Sherriff Mark Dion denies the charges and notes Ladakakos was on suicide watch at the time of the alleged incident.
