Sarah Palin is a grandmother! Bristol gives birth in Alaska

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol, 18, and her boyfriend Levi Johnston's baby boy was born on Sunday and named "Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.”

The baby is grandson of the former Republican Vice presidential candidate Palin. He weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was born in Palmer, Alaska. The mother and baby are healthy.

"We think it's wonderful. The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited," said Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, who confirmed the news according to People Magazine.

Bristol and Levi have been dating for three years and plan to marry in early 2009. Levi is studying to become an electrician. He formerly played hockey at Wasilla High School.
