Can You Find Out if a Business is Low Risk Before You Start It?
It would be great if you could. Right?
What would it take? Here are a few ideas:
- You would need a way to find out all about the business first.
- You would need to be able to talk to others who had started the same kind of business. You would want them to tell you all about their successes and challenges. You’d want them to share the inside secrets with you.
- You would want to see some statistics on how many other people had success or failure in similar businesses.
But is that possible? You couldn’t possibly get all of that information. Could you?

Career Interview With a Civil Engineer
In this career interview, an engineer shares his experience in the industry. He talks about the challenges faced when working for government contracts, and also opens up about racial discrimination he has faced on the job. This is a true career interview as told to LatPro.com. This is one of many interviews with individuals in the engineering or manufacturing fields including interviews with a civil engineer and with an efficiency expert.
I am a civil engineer and I guess you could say I work in the industry of government or engineering. My firm is a privately owned business, but we were set up primarily to fulfill government contracts. I have a grand total of nine years in the field of engineering and five in civil engineering, specifically for the government. Using only three adjectives, I would describe myself as charming, happy and easygoing.
My ethnicity and gender is black and male. Although I think there have definitely been improvements in the way black people are treated, I do not think I get all of the respect I deserve. Race should not be an issue in what I do, and normally, it is not. But a few instances have stuck out, and it's not anything big - just a little comment here or there, or someone saying something under their breath. You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you, which is why I just ignore it and go to the gym later to take it out on the punching bag.

Learn the Career Path of a UPS Tractor-Trailer Driver
Considered working as a tractor-trailer driver for UPS? This interview will take you down the career path including the ups and downs you can expect in the position, what it takes to land the job, what you can expect to earn and more.
I'm a feeder (tractor-trailer) driver for UPS. I have worked in this capacity for the last 11 years, but have been with UPS for 36 years.
As a feeder driver, I shuttle trailers filled with packages between UPS facilities. One common misunderstanding associated with my job is that many people think big trucks are difficult to drive when pulling double trailers. I have done this job for so long I do not notice any difference in the weight or maneuverability of driving the bigger rigs.

Learn the Career Path of a Marine Biologist
This interview will take you down the carer path of a Marine Biologist including through the ups and downs you can expect, what it takes to land the job, what you can expect to earn and more.
I’m a Marine Biologist and have been working in a Marine Research Center for the past five years. The focus on my work is mainly on corals. It’s been quite a journey—a fun, adventure-filled, and adrenalin-pumping half a decade.
I claim to be 100% biologically male and 50% Brazilian. Not to sound conceited, but I never experienced any form of bullying, racism or the like; neither in childhood nor in work. Thus, I consider myself lucky because some of my childhood friends did.

Career Interview With a Registered Nurse
This is a true career interview with a Registered Nurse as told to DiversityJobs.com, where you can find other interviews with healthcare professionals, like one with a Physical Therapy Aide.
I recently worked as a registered nurse for a local nursing home. I completed my schooling for my nursing degree eight years ago and have been working in the field since then. However, I recently took some time off to spend with my children, so currently, I am not working in the nursing home. I would describe myself as organized, quiet and helpful.
Being a white female has definitely helped in my career. I feel that some of the patients that I work with see me as an equal since most of the patients I care for are Caucasian, as well. Many of the female patients will talk to me about their problems more than I have seen with some of the other ethnicities or genders. The only discrimination I have experienced is when I first came on board as a nurse. I was young and was not really sure what I wanted to do, so some of the older nurses were skeptical of my skills.
