The prosecutor overseeing the trial surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death is taking extra steps to ensure the case doesn’t hit any unnecessary roadblocks. Lawyers representing the once aspiring actress, who died July 26 at age 22, are suing boyfriend Nick Gordon for her wrongful death. With continued cries of innocence from both Gordon, 25, and his legal team, the district attorney fears having certain pieces of evidence readily available could send the defendant running.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the Fulton County, Georgia, (Atlanta) D.A. has requested that autopsy results for Bobbi Kristina Brown be sealed. This would prevent Gordon, and his team of lawyers, from viewing the documents and uncovering his longtime girlfriend’s officially determined cause of death. According to the site, the D.A. fears that seeing the results could “create risk of flight” for defendants in the case. The information also could pose a threat to witnesses taking the stand. According to ET, the motion was approved by a judge on Sept. 28.

"The criminal investigation involving possible charges in this case is ongoing, no arrests have been made, and disclosure of the autopsy report and the above-mentioned information at this time would compromise the integrity of the investigation and create a risk of flight in possible defendants, and could pose a danger to witnesses involved in this case," the filing, obtained by WSB-TV, stated.

At present, no arrests have been made for Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death. Gordon, however, is widely believed to be the prime suspect. Bobby Brown released a statement through his lawyer on Sept. 28 stating that he was almost certain Gordon was somehow involved in his daughter’s death. He revealed that Gordon and his legal team attempted to have the case against them thrown out, but were unsuccessful. Gordon is now being forced to deliver a deposition under oath. His lawyers have been outspoken about their plans to fight this case tooth and nail, calling all claims made against Gordon “slanderous.”

In August Bedelia C. Hargrove, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s conservator, filed a lawsuit against Gordon claiming he had contributed to her client’s death. The documents stated that during their relationship Gordon had been controlling, limiting her interactions with other men by perpetuating the falsehood that they were married, and stole from her. The suit also alleged that on the morning Bobbi Kristina Brown was found face down in a bathtub in her Georgia home, Gordon had come home from a night of partying and using cocaine. He is said to have brought another woman with him and began arguing with Brown. The argument escalated, and she was allegedly given a “toxic cocktail” before being put in the tub.
