Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown and their daughter Bobbi Kristina, during happier times.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late queen of pop, Whitney Houston, was spotted eating lunch with her semi-estranged father, Bobby Brown, at a Times Square restaurant on Tuesday. The couple chose Blue Fin, a seafood restaurant, for the occasion, nestled within the prestigious W Hotel (no word if either party was staying there), according to an Us Weekly source.

And the two were not alone – they were joined by Bobby Brown's longtime girlfriend Alicia Etheridge, as well as three other unidentified pals. As for Bobbi Kristina, she looked a bit distracted during the hour-and-a-half-long lunch, according to the tipster. She was on her phone and texting a crazy amount, the source told Us Weekly. She didn't seem too thrilled to be there, in all honesty.

That's not at all surprising given the longstanding tension between Bobbi Kristina and her father Bobby Brown. TMZ reported recently that Bobbi Kristina has been making noises for years about her desire to take her mother's, rather than father's, last name, and that the death of her mother only made her want to change her name even more.

Bobbi Kristina is telling friends she's wanted to change her name for years, TMZ reported, but Whitney wouldn't let her. But now that Whitney has passed away, TMZ says that the 19-year-old feels untethered, and wants to finally change her name completely, making it simply 'Kristina Houston.' That would mean not only hacking off her father's last name, Brown, but also her first name Bobbi. In other words, she wanted to go from being Bobbi Kristina Brown, to simply being Kristina Houston.

Another thing that could be ticking Bobbi Kris off is the threat her live-in boyfriend and unofficially adopted brudder Nick Gordon received the other day from Bobby Brown's son Landon.

Landon Brown, Bobbi Kristina Brown's half-brother on her father's side, spoke on her relationship with Nick Gordon, and he didn't mince words. In fact, if we're not mistaken, he actually threatened Nick Gordon.

Shortly after landing in New York, Landon Brown was asked by TMZ on camera (see video below) what he thought of the relationship between his little sister and Nick Gordon.

You should worry about me and Nick, he said, which sounds like a threat to us.

Why? What's that, you got beef? the paparazzi asked.

Realizing that he said something he maybe shouldn't have, he paused, and then said, My little sister is still a child.

Landon, of course, isn't the only family member concerned about the relationship between Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon, whom Whitney Houston unofficially adopted when he was 12 years old.

What they're doing is incestuous, Cissy Houston, Bobbi Kristina's grandmother and Whitney's mother, reportedly told a close friend, according to TMZ. They also wrote that Cissy feels her granddaughter has problems and Nick is taking advantage of her.

Of course, there could be another reason the family thinks Nick Gordon is up to no good: Bobbi Kristina Brown is set to inherit a lot of money. As Whitney Houston's only biological child, she's set to inherit the entire estate. Although how much that turns out to be is up for debate; Whitney had a very expensive lifestyle, and was reportedly deeply in debt by the time she passed away.

But did Nick come up for discussion between Bobbi Kristina Brown and her father? Unless another tipster comes forth (and given how leaky this family is, that's a real possibility!), we may never know.
