Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 19-year-old daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, wants a name change to cut all links with her father, TMZ reported.

TMZ reported that Bobbi Kristina is telling friends that she has been wanting to change her name for years. She has thought about it ever since her parents split but her mother wouldn't allow her, the TMZ report stated. She wants to be known as Kristina Houston.

There is no news at this time as to when the young woman will make it official.

Bobbi Kristina was born in 1993. Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown separated about six years ago after marrying in 1992.

Houston, 48, died on Feb. 11 at the Beverly Hilton hotel. She was close with her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who was hospitalized for stress and anxiety after her mother's death.

Houston's funeral service was held in New Jersey on Feb. 18 and Bobby Brown walked out of the funeral because of disagreement over seating arrangements. Houston willed all her money, cars, jewelry and property to her daughter.

Bobbi Kristina will give her first interview since her mother's death today, to Oprah Winfrey. The episode will air at 9 p.m. EST on OWN.
