After a win-loss record of just 13-18 and 5-11 in the Big 12, Texas Tech has fired head basketball coach Pat Knight.

The son of former head coach Bobby Knight, who is making the rounds for his Saturday cursing incident on ESPN, Pat Knight replaced his dad on February 4, 2008, and has compiled a rather weak record with the Red Raiders.

Going just 39-43 over his three seasons, the 40-year-old coach will continue his job with Texas Tech in the Big 12 tournament this week, and will then step down, according to a school spokesman.

There are no current candidates to replace Knight.

This is the second major move for Texas Tech sports in the past two years. The school fired their head football coach Mike Leetch back in 2009, and replaced him with Tommy Tuberville last season.
