Los Angeles police on Thursday were trying to determine the cause of death of a woman whose body was found in the crawlspace of her parents’ home.

The body of Julia Christine Snyder, 53, was found in her parents’ Malibu home on Wednesday. Police had been searching for Snyder since she was reported missing on Feb. 8. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said she was last reportedly seen near the home around 9 p.m. on Feb. 8.

Police said foul play was not suspected, and there was no evidence pointing to a possible crime.

Her parents told police Snyder was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had left her medication at home. Search and rescue teams were deployed, beginning their search around Los Angeles’ hillside area before expanding the search area to Los Angeles County.

Drone and K-9 units were also deployed to aid search efforts, but were unable to find Snyder for more than a week.

Investigators returned to the parents’ home on Wednesday to conduct a second search and found Snyder’s body in the crawl space. Neighbors told reporters the house was taped off while more officers arrived to conduct a full investigation of the home.
