BofA creates consumer policy executive role

Bank of America Corp said on Wednesday it has named its corporate social responsibility head, Andrew Plepler, to a new position as a consumer policy executive.

In that role, Plepler will work with consumer and community groups to represent the bank's position on issues related to mortgages and other consumer lending that affect them, Bank of America said in a statement.

Plepler will also continue to head the bank's corporate and social responsibility initiatives, the Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank said. (Reporting by Elinor Comlay, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
