FXstreet.com (Jakarta) - The BOJ board voted unanimously to keep its unsecured overnight call loan rate unchanged at 0.10%. The board last lowered the policy interest rate in December by 20 basis points.

The BOJ policy board voted to keep interest rates unchanged at ultra-low levels despite the deepening recession, while it takes time to gauge the effectiveness of previous measures.

Meanwhile, the BOJ held its economic assessment for April, saying the nation's economy has deteriorated significantly due to a worsening in corporate profits and weakening domestic demand.
