The Bank of Korea released today its decision about the benchmark for the month May. The BOK has kept the rates unchanged steady at 3.00%, where the actual reading came inline with the previous reading, while the market's expectations referred the Bank to raise rates to 3.25%.

At the meantime, the Bank aims to wait and see the currency appreciation the Won is working to curb inflation rates before the Bank's intervention to raise the rates. Further, BOK has increased the rates twice this year.
