Sally on "The Bold and the Beautiful"

She knows she could face extensive prison time for going through with her grandmother’s plot to steal designs from Forrester and pass them off as Spectra originals. Now, after being summoned to a judge’s chamber on the Friday, May 5 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Sally will learn her fate.

Sally (Courtney Hope) tried extraordinarily hard to make her mark as a legitimate designer and to keep Spectra from once again becoming a a copycat design house on the CBS soap. A bad review however of her initial collection and increased pressure from her grandmother Shirley (Patrica Darbo) to honor the same legacy as her namesake Great-Aunt, led Sally to finally go through with using the designs that her family had stolen from Forrester. However, while she couldn’t be prosecuted specifically for the designs being stolen since they were altered enough, the means for how they were stolen gave Forrester the ammunition they needed to press charges for corporate espionage.

Sally’s sister Coco (Courtney grosbeck), who was a Forrester intern, had been given hidden cameras to wear without her knowledge, and since those cameras were used to get the designs, using them meant Sally could go to jail for up to 15 years. Now, she will face a judge to learn just how long she could actually be sent to prison for, though she could be surprised if things suddenly start to turn around in her favor and she is spared a hefty sentence.

Meanwhile, Thomas (Pierson Fode) is still hurting over how Sally used him to get ahead by stealing his designs. But despite being angry and hurt that Sally resorted to thievery, he still also can’t help but feel that things are now being taken too far when it comes to how she’s being punished for her crime. He does still think she deserves to be punished in some way because of how betrayed he feels by his former girlfriend, but he thinks the criminal charges are maybe going too far. In a preview clip for the newest episode, he will express these feelings to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), admitting that his feelings for Sally may just be the reason he feels so hesitant.

“She lied and she stole from us,” he says in the clip. “And if it were anybody else, I would have no problem picturing them rotting in prison right now.”

Steffy of course won’t have any sympathy for Sally because as Forrester’s co-CEO, she thinks that the company needs to send a message that poaching their designs isn’t okay. Though she did previously express remorse over potentially destroying Sally’s life by pressing charges, she has doubled down on her stance that she needs to pay, because of the message it could send to other competitors who are thinking of doing the same thing.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
