He went against his family’s wishes and defended the woman he loves in a lawsuit which could have ended with her receiving a lengthy prison sentence. However, Thomas’ effort to help Sally could still have some unexpected consequences on the Monday, May 8 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Previously on the CBS soap, Thomas (Pierson Fode) showed up at Sally’s (Courtney Hope) pre-trial deposition hearing and made the statement on her behalf that would be the only thing that could keep her from being sentenced to at least five years in prison. The move stunned not only Sally, but the rest of the Spectra clan, as well as Forrester’s own lawyer, Carter (Lawrence St. Victor), who was especially dumbfounded about Thomas’ move. However, now that the damage has been done, he will have no choice but to drop the lawsuit. Unfortunately for Spectra, this could cause more harm though, as the civil suit will still be in effect, and that will bring even more damage to Spectra’s ability to continue doing business.

“My clients are willing to drop the criminal suit,” Carter says in a preview clip. “Spectra Fashions is done. All assets seized, damages paid, and Sally Spectra cannot interfere with Forrester Creations again.”

The news will be devastating for the Spectra family, because while it is a relief that Sally will no longer have to worry about facing prison time for stealing Forrester designs, it will still be a blow to them because they will no longer have the chance to try and revive the brand and live up to the original Sally’s namesake.

In addition, their being forced to close their doors will also lead to another big consequence, which involves Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) machinations to get the building they worked out of for himself, so he can build another skyscraper. His secretly writing the bad review of Sally’s original line led to the decision to steal from Forrester, and now, has set the chain the events leading to his getting what he wants—which is that building.

However, there could be one person who may wind up standing in Bill’s way once they realize what he did. Liam (Scott Clifton) has no idea that his father fabricated the initial review because he will perform any underhanded act he can to get what he wants. But when Wyatt (Darin Brooks) continues to make him suspicious with his stonewalling about things, Liam could start looking into thing for himself.

“Stop reading into this,” Wyatt says.

“You are the one telling me there’s something to read into,” Liam replies.

If Liam does start looking into things and find out the truth, he could then go to either Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), or Spectra himself and reveal the truth, prompting those opposed to Bill’s scheming to fight back in the process.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
