Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas, who has had some problems this year with his political leanings and his Facebook page, has struck again. This time he posted a message on his Facebook page on Saturday night linking to a story on TheBlaze.com.

Thomas posted a question, See why hockey's just not that important right now? along with the story.

The link itself goes to a story from a former hedge fund manager about the dire state of the world economy. The story is only a few hundred words long and is short on any substance but long on scary verbs and dire predictions.

The Blaze is the website of fired Fox News host Glenn Beck, a man Thomas has said is the person he would most like to have dinner with and a man who is known for discarding facts for rhetoric.

The Facebook post follows a bizzare turn of events in the past 48 hours for Thomas. On Friday Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli announced that Thomas had told the team that he was considering skipping out on the final year of his contract next season due to fatigue and family reasons.

Thomas has yet to explain his reasons for walking away from the $3 million he is owed for next season, especially in an economy that is as dire as he says it is.
