Cory and Topanga may soon be back on television, this time as parents.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that The Disney Channel is in the early stages of developing a spinoff show to the teen sitcom “Boy Meets World,” which aired as part of ABC’s “TGIF” Friday lineup from 1993 to 2000.

The aptly named “Girl Meets World” will follow the pre-teen daughter of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, TVLine originally reported.

While there is no official word as to weather Ben Savage, 32, who played Cory, and Danielle Fishel, 31, who played Topanga, will reprise their roles as high school sweethearts turned parents, rumors indicate there is a possibility.

Fishel posted on Twitter Saturday, “Just want you guys to know that @BenSavage and I have talked and we've decided...Thanksgiving is going to be delicious this year!”

There has been no word from Savage.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair dated briefly while “Boy Meets World” was still on air.

Since then, Savage graduated from Stanford University with a degree in political science in 2004, and Fishel has returned to TV as host of the Style Network show, “The Dish.”

Entertainment Weekly’s Pop Watch suggests that a show starring the original cast a decade later would make only a brief splash, and after a few episodes of reminiscing, audiences would simply be wishing for the original '90s storyline. “Girl Meets World” would be a chance to revamp the story line and tackle middle school issues from a girl’s perspective.

“And this way, we’ll all get to see Cory as an awkward dad, something he’s been prepping for since he was about 13,” Pop Watch wrote.
