BP is intending to accelerate the process of oil capture from the Gulf of Mexico's oil spill to end the problem as soon as possible. BP said it is showing progress in terms of extracting oil as it managed to collect 6,077 barrels yesterday and said it will extract 1,000 barrels a day when pressure stabilize, thus it expects further improvement in the coming days.
It added that the system can handle up to 15,000 barrels a day which is the company's target in the coming period. However, it seems that BP has a lot to do to contain the oil leak as government scientists expect the well to be gushing between 12,000 to 19,000 barrels a day.
On the other hand, U.S. President Barack Obama is putting more pressure on BP to contain the problem as the wind is moving the oil near coasts of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida which is increasing the agony of the Gulf of Mexico's communities, causing BP to pay 35,000 claims to residents.
