Brad Pitt is another year older and wiser.

On Monday, the "War Machine" star celebrated his 54th birthday. According to an insider, Pitt is doing good and is taking care of himself better following his split from his estranged wife Angelina Jolie in September 2016.

"In a sense, this split was good for Brad because he sized himself up and realized there had to be changes," a source told People. "Brad and Angie are doing OK, working out time for him to be with the kids which he treasures."

The insider added that the "Maleficent" star's ex has been "casually dating." "He has been going out, but there is nothing serious in the dating area at all, nothing to speak of at this point," the source added.

Pitt and Jolie did not have an amicable split. The two were throwing shades at each other, but things have since calmed down for the pair. Despite their better arrangement, Pitt and Jolie have moved on and are not getting back to each other.

Last week, there are rumors that the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" stars are reconciling. "The holidays make Brad really sentimental about family but especially about their kids — he's still obsessed with spoiling them and still treats them like princesses and princes, and Angelina never had a problem with him spoiling them when he felt like it," an unidentified source told Radar Online.

"Brad has changed a lot in the time since he and Angelina separated, and he definitely wants his big family back, but this is entirely Angelina's decision," the source continued.

However, Gossip Cop debunked the reports. The publication noted that there is no evidence supporting the claims that Pitt and Jolie are "working out their differences" or that they are "getting close again."

In a recent podcast with Jolie, the "Changeling" actress revealed that she is still open to working with her ex-husband. For her, they work well together.

"We had met working together and we worked together well," Jolie said. "I wanted us to do some serious work together, I thought it would be a good way for us to communicate."

Jolie and Pitt first shared the big screen in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in 2005. Their last movie is "By the Sea" in 2015.
