Amid rumors that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are heading for a divorce, a new report said that the actress' health condition has deteriorated as she is on a "hunger strike" to raise awareness about starving Syrian refugees. The news comes amid growing concerns over Jolie's health as the 40-year-old is reportedly down to 79 pounds.

National Enquirer reported that Pitt is "trying desperately to make Angie understand the dire straits she’s in." Some reports have speculated that Jolie's health crisis is because of the ongoing tensions in her married life. However, Gossip Cop debunked the report Thursday, saying that Jolie is not on a "hunger strike."

As concerns grow over the Jolie's health, another report Thursday said that the actress is considering a political career. According to Us Weekly, Jolie has "struck up a close friendship" with Arminka Helic, a British House of Lords member.

Jolie "is readying herself for what could be a full-time commitment with the British government," a source told Us Weekly, adding that "Arminka helps Angelina make decisions about her next political move. Angie considers her a mentor."

The source also said that Helic, who has been guiding Jolie, also spends time with the actress and Pitt’s six children in London.

Earlier this week, rumors about Pitt's cheating resurfaced with Star magazine saying that the actor is getting cozy with co-star Marion Cotillard as Jolie battles a purported health crisis. The report also stated that Pitt and Cotillard have “affectionate nicknames” for each other and “secret in-jokes that no one else gets.”

Several reports have said that Jolie was paranoid over Pitt's flirting, and this was tearing their marriage apart.
