The Brazilian real advanced against the US dollar in New York trading on Thursday. The real climbed to a 1-week high of 2.2280 versus the greenback by about 2:45 pm ET, which may be compared to Wednesday's North American session close of 2.2740. Presently, the real is worth 2.2310 versus the buck. The Brazilian currency has been in an upward channel against the dollar for the past 3 days. If the Brazilian currency climbs further, it may find near term resistance around the 2.22 level.
