A court in Egyptian has suspended am earlier decision by the government that allowed military police and intelligence officials to arrest civilians.

The prior ruling, issued earlier this month, had outraged activists and lawmakers who complained it was tantamount to restoring emergency rule.

The government can appeal the court's decision.
